Welcome to what will hopefully become a Pokesdown history site for those living in the Pokesdown area.
A little while ago, we were given permission by JA Young to reproduce his History essays, the first of which is now available in the history section. (Transcribers welcome!)
Pokesdown
... a small village situated between Bournemouth and Christchurch on the south coast of England.
Though the tram depot and the fire station have long since gone (to be replaced by blocks of flats), we still have a railway station, even if Boscombe is trying to claim it!
